Hiring Process

At Centurion, we take great care when it comes to selecting future members of our team. Potential officers must meet specific requirements in order to be considered for employment. Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed (21 for armed).
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Pass an extensive criminal background check (conducted annually after hiring).
  • Participate in a panel-interview process.

State Certification Process

Upon hiring, all of our officers go through a probationary period, where they receive 16 hours of state-mandated classroom training, in accordance with North Carolina Private Protective Services, after which they must pass a written exam. Training is administered by our in-house, state-certified trainers and covers various topics, including but not limited to:

  • Legal Issues/Use of Force
  • Patrol Procedures
  • Emergency Response
  • Detailed Report-writing

Site-specific | On-the-job Training Process

Centurion's management team engages in one-one-one, site-specific training with our officers, ensuring that all site protocols are executed to our clients' exact specifications. Our officers are highly-adaptive; trained to integrate seamlessly into any environment and effectively maintain a secure atmosphere.

Specialized Training

All Security Officers at Centurion carry current CPR certifications (adult/child/infant), so you can feel confident that individuals in and around your facility, event, or community will be well taken care of until EMS arrives.
